ACOM broadens the complaint for glorification of terrorism in the Spanish Congress

On June 3, the Spanish Parliament hosted a forum organized by the far-left Podemos, the party that supports Pedro Sánchez in the Spanish Government, which was attended by activists from Samidoun and Masar Badil.

In this talk they defended the “brave initiative of Hamas” of Hamas last October 7 and assured that the State of Israel “does not have the right to exist”.

In response to these statements, Acción y Comunicación sobre Oriente Medio (ACOM) has filed legal action against one of the participants, for the crime of glorification of Terrorism, provided for in Article 578 of the Spanish Penal Code, and Provocation to Terror in the Population, which in turn is provided for in Article 573.

This is an extension of a complaint that had already been filed last February. The appearance (and reiteration) of new evidence and statements that flagrantly make apology of terrorism, makes it necessary to reopen them, as there are no doubts about their criminal nature.

ACOM, reference group of the Spanish civil society that fights against antisemitic discrimination and the harassment of the only Jewish State, will continue to unmask all the actions carried out by those who not only intend to limit the liberties of the Jews, but also that their statements transcend the discourse of hatred to become real threats of committing terrorist attacks, also here in Spain.
